Mr President,

Ukraine expresses profound concern over the escalating violence and reported atrocities in Sudan. We are deeply alarmed by the serious violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, and by their devastating impact on civilians, particularly women and children, in and around El Fasher, as well as the broader escalation of hostilities across North Darfur and the Kordofan region.

Ukraine opposes any attempts at fragmentation of the Republic of Sudan and its state institutions. The Sudanese people have the inalienable right to live in peace and security. We reaffirm Ukraine's unwavering position in support of the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan, and the building of its democratic and prosperous society.

Ukraine stands in full solidarity with the Sudanese people and unequivocally condemns the ongoing violence against them. We call upon all parties to the armed conflict, as well as the international community, to take all necessary measures to halt the bloodshed, ensure accountability for crimes committed against civilians, and prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation.

We emphasize that these measures are not only vital for the Sudanese people but are also essential for promoting lasting peace, security, and stability throughout the African continent.
