Dear Mr. President,
Dear Mr. Executive Secretary,
Dear participants of this Committee session,
It is a great pleasure and honour for me to be here among you at this year Committee session, especially at its substantive part dedicated to the Innovation Performance Review of Ukraine. On behalf of the government of my country, first of all, let me thank the organizers of this substantive segment for the invitation to participate in it, welcome all participants and wish a successful and fruitful work.
I would like to stress that it is for the first time that the Innovation Performance Review of Ukraine has been prepared by a team of international and national experts as well as other stakeholders within the activities of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Integration. Today, we will have a good opportunity do conduct an open discussion on independent recommendations prepared by the experts and make an assessment of the conclusions obtained, and may be to correct something in these conclusions.
In this context I would like to emphasize that Ukraine has a large science and production basis, sufficiently high international ratings in education level, generation of knowledges as well as innovative and technological capacities. Like other countries in transition, Ukraine needs technological modernization and production diversification on the basis of commercialization of the results of its own scientific researches.
I would like to express my hope that the conclusions and draft recommendations of the Innovation Performance Review of Ukraine, which will be discussed during this substantive segment, will promote a positive image of our country and will have as a result an increase of foreign direct investments into Ukrainian economy, sustainable economic development and further integration of Ukraine into the global economy.
Thank you for attention!
