Mr. President,
Safety and security of our citizens is a matter of principle for the leadership of Ukraine. These goals are meant to be reached through the implementation of the President Poroshenko’s Peace Plan, supported by the international community.
Its key points – ceasefire, termination of the support of terrorists from abroad, liberation of hostages, the withdrawal of the Russian army and its mercenaries from our territory, effective border control.
And we hope that the agreements reached by the Trilateral contact group in Minsk last Friday will be strictly observed by all parties, including the Russian Federation, mentioned in the High Commissioner’s update.
In order to stabilize the internal situation in the country the Government has drafted an Action Plan "Recovery of Ukraine".
Its main priorities –stopping the aggression of the Russian Federation and resuming sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU, restoration of Donbas, decentralization of power, wide anti-corruption measures.
Proceeding with the highest value of human life, the Ukrainian authorities have been doing and will do everything possible to stop bloodshed, to put an end to people’s suffering, to restore peace and stability in our country.
I thank you.
