On 11-13 April 2012 the third session of the Working Group of the Member States of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the process and methods of the election of the Director-General of the Organization is held in Geneva
The Working Group was established in January 2011 by the Resolution of the WHO Executive Board with a view to enhancing fairness, transparence and equity among the Member States of the six regions of the Organization with respect to the process of nomination and appointment of the Director-General.
It is envisaged that the third session will be the final one. The report of the Working Group will be presented at the 65th session of the World Health Assembly this May.
Representatives of about 100 Member-States of the World Health Organization are participating in the session. Ukraine is represented by experts of its Permanent Mission to the UN Office in Geneva.
