United Nations Conference on trade and development (UNCTAD) holds its 13-th session from 21 to 26 April 2012 in Qatar with representatives from around 100 countries, including Ukraine, as well as from international organizations and non-governmental institutions participating in the meeting.
At the event, after the opening ceremony, the high level segment will take place. Within the framework of the main theme of the Conference (“Development-centered globalization: Towards inclusive and sustainable growth and development”) sessions with the following themes are planned to be held:
· Enhancing the enabling economic environment at all levels in support of inclusive and sustainable development.
· Strengthening all forms of cooperation and partnerships for trade and development, including North-South, South-South and triangular cooperation.
· Addressing persistent and emerging development challenges as related to their implications for trade and development and interrelated issues in the areas of finance, technology, investment and sustainable development.
· Promoting investment, trade, entrepreneurship and related development policies to foster sustained economic growth for sustainable and inclusive development.
The UNCTAD Conference is the quadrennial conference, which aims at determination of the policy options and formulation of global policy responses and discussing issues related to the activity of UNCTAD.
