On June 8th on the occasion of the opening of the final tournament UEFA-2012 Permanent Missions of Ukraine and Poland in Geneva held a joint reception with participation of the UN Office in Geneva leadership, representatives of Geneva’s international organizations and diplomatic corps, as well as Ukrainian and Polish communities.

Permanent Representatives of Ukraine and Poland – both EURO-2012 host countries addressed the audience with welcoming speeches. Ambassador Mykola Maimeskul of Ukraine confirmed in his statement the highest attention paid by our state to the matter of proper hosting the Championship and noted the efforts made by Ukraine in order to ensure festive EURO-2012 for its participants and fans.

The reception held in a friendly atmosphere promoted invitees’ awareness of the readiness of Ukraine and Poland hold decently and on a high level the main European football tournament, affirming rightness of the decision taken by UEFA in 2007 in favor of EURO-2012 host countries.
