On the 12th of June 2012 within the framework of the high-level segment of the 101st International Labour Conference H.E. Mr. Serhii Tihipko, Vice-Prime-Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine met with the Executive Director of the International Labour Office (ILO) Mr. Guy Ryder.

High officials discussed the state of the bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the ILO, as well as the implementation of the technical assistance programs of the ILO, aimed at supporting the reforms in social and labor sphere in Ukraine.

Mr. Serhii Tihipko informed the ILO representative that on the eve of the 101st ILC (01/06/12) social partners in Ukraine signed the National Tripartite agreement on employment and jobs, developed to promote the ILO Global Jobs Pact and the UN Millennium Development Goals

He noted inter alia the intention of Ukraine to ratify in the nearest future the ILO Convention No. 117 concerning Basic Aims and Standards of Social Policy.

Also the Vice-Prime-Minister of Ukraine participated in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, national associations of trade unions, national associations of employers and the ILO on the implementation of the Decent Work Country Programme (DCWP) for the period 2012 - 2015.
