On June 6, 2016, participating in the 105th session of the International Labour Conference, senior executive forum of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Pavlo Rozenko, Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine and Andrii Reva, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine met with Guy Ryder, Director General of the ILO, during which the ceremony of signing of the record of deposit and registration of Ukraine’s instrument of ratification of the ILO Convention № 102 on Minimum Standards of Social Security took place.
The delegation of Ukraine stressed on the priority attention being paid by the Government of our State to ensuring social protection and conducting comprehensive socio-economic reforms, despite the ongoing external aggression against Ukraine. In this context, the efforts aimed at implementing the 2016 – 2019 Decent Work Programme for Ukraine, signed this April, as well as employing the internally displaced persons from the south-east of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea were highlighted. The Ukrainian side emphasized on the main tasks of the Government of Ukraine in the socio-labour sphere, in particular with regard to introducing the European labour standards by means of elaborating the modern labour legislation as well as raising the labour costs. At the same time, a hope was expressed for further ILO’s technical assistance in preparing for ratification of a number of Organization’s Conventions.
G.Ryder, on his part, assured of ILO’s willingness to continue facilitating our country in overcoming its current socio-economic challenges and carrying out reforms.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the State Employment Service, State Labour Service, trade unions of Ukraine and the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva.
