On June 9, 2016 Andrii Reva, Minister for Social Policy of Ukraine delivered a speech during the High-level segment of the 105th Session of the International Labour Conference.
The Minister drew attention to the devastating impact of the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the Russian Federation and subversive activities in the Southeast of Ukraine of illegal armed groups, supported by Russia, on the socio-economic situation in our country, as well as the increased number of internally displaced persons. At the same time, he stressed on the commitment of the Ukrainian authorities to the implementation of comprehensive reforms, informed about the adopted Strategy of Overcoming Poverty up to 2020, as well as the new 2016 – 2019 Decent Work Programme for Ukraine.
A.Reva expressed gratitude for ILO’s technical and expert assistance for our country to develop and implement the mentioned reforms, as well as hope for ILO’s further facilitating Ukraine in overcoming its current socio-economic challenges.
