On June 24, 2014 Y.Klymenko, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine met with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Current issues of cooperation between our country and the ICRC have been discussed, inter alia, in the context of resuming activities of the Committee's Mission in Ukraine since this April.

Permanent Representative thanked for the assistance provided by the Committee, in particular in connection with the situation in the Southern East of our state, and expressed readiness of the Ukrainian side to assist the Mission of the Committee in its activities in Ukraine.

Y.Klymenko requested the President of the ICRC to be further engaged, within the competence of the Committee, in protecting the rights of the Ukrainian citizens detained in Libya. P.Maurer, in turn, informed about the intention to continue to pay attention to this issue.
