During the plenary meeting of the 2nd part of 2014 session of the Conference on Disarmament the Permanent Representative of Ukraine, Ambassador Yurii KLYMENKO presented Ukraine’s views on proposals for the revitalization of the Conference, put forward by its Acting Secretary General Mr. Michael Møller. In addition the Permanent Representative of Ukraine also drew attention of the participants to the breaches of the Budapest Memorandum on security assurances to Ukraine by the Russian Federation, as well as to the intention of the President of Ukraine Mr. Petro Poroshenko to ensure the conclusion of a new international agreement that would replace the Budapest Memorandum and provide direct and reliable guarantees of peace and security - up to military support in case of threat to Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
