On 28 April 2014 the nineteenth session of the Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group commenced its work in Geneva’s Palais des Nations. UPR serves as a key mechanism of the Council that regularly reviews all the UN Member States’ commitments in the sphere of human rights.
Agenda of the two-week session includes reviews of 14 countries: Norway, Albania, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Portugal, Bhutan, Dominica, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Brunei Darussalam, Costa Rica, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Qatar and Nicaragua.
The delegation of Ukraine represented by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva participates in the work of the session.
