On March 12, 2014 Y.Klymenko, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine met with Laurent Corbaz, Director of Operations for Europe and Central Asia of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Current issues of cooperation between our country and the ICRC have been discussed, in particular in the context of the Committee's intention to resume its activities in Ukraine by opening in the near future its Mission in Kyiv.

At the same time the Permanent Representative requested the Committee to further provide, within its competence, assistance in the case of the Ukrainian citizens detained in Libya. L.Korba, in turn, has assured that this matter remains in the ICRC's scope of attention.
