On February 10, 2014 the 6^th session of the Committee on Trade of the  Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) started its three-day work in Geneva.

Election of officers of the Committee took place at the beginning of the session. Mr. R.Sobolev, Head of external trade policy department of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Belarus was elected as its Chairman for the year 2014.

Participants of the session are discussing recent achievements in removing regulatory and procedural barriers to trade. Delegations of member countries will also sum up the results of the Committee's activity in 2013 and will approve its work programme for the year 2014.

The representatives from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and from the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN Office in Geneva participate in the annual session of the Committee.
