The annual meetings of the High Contracting Parties to the Convention on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons Which May Be Deemed to Be Excessively Injurious or to Have Indiscriminate Effects (CCW) and its related Protocols II and V convene in Geneva on 11-15 November 2013.
Ukraine is represented by official delegation, headed by the Director of the Directorate-General for International Security and Disarmament of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mr. O.Aleksandrovych, which includes experts from the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as form the Security Service of Ukraine.
These events will focus on the status and the implementation of the CCW and its additional Protocols, the promotion of their universality and implementation with regard to maintaining of safety and security of ammunition storage facilities, ways and methods for improving the efficiency of clearance operations, cooperation between developing and ERW affected countries, information exchange on IEDs and their prevention as well as on the provision of assistance for victims.
