The Thirtieth session of Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (UNCTAD) has been taken place place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva from 6 to 8 November 2013. The main issue, discussed during the meeting, was continuation of work on the accounting development tool, including on the online portal. Experts deliberated on issues related to the human capacity pillar of the tool and reviewed findings on its applications in 2013.
Within the framework of Agenda item on key foundations for high-quality corporate reporting, the Head of the delegation of Ukraine, Mrs.T.Iefymenko, the President of the Academy of Financial Management under the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, has presented main results of the work on the development of financial reporting in Ukraine and assessment on our country’s capacity for high-quality corporate reporting. It was emphasized, that taking into consideration the importance of the accounting reformation, the work on assessment on capacity for financial reporting based on UNCTAD-ISAR methodology is included to the National action plan of the government of Ukraine for 2013 on implementation of the Economic Reforms Program for 2010 - 2014 "Prosperous Society, Competitive Economy, Effective State" adopted by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. The audience was informed, that the UNCTAD-ISAR assessment on our country’s capacity for high-quality corporate reporting was carried in Ukraine under the Ministry of Finance auspices from April to October 2013.
The participation of the delegation of Ukraine in the work of the session was provided by the delegation, which consisted of representatives of the Ministry of finance of Ukraine, Academy of Financial Management under the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and учзукеі of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva.
