On October 4, 2013 within the framework of his working visit to Geneva Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Humanitarian Affairs Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with the Director General of the World Health Organization Margaret Chan.

M.Chan welcomed the steps taken by the Government of Ukraine in the field of immunization and encouraged to continue its efforts in this area, stressing that in the modern globalized world health issues are beyond national borders.

During the meeting K.Gryshchenko thanked for the assistance provided by the WHO to our country in the field of improving health care system.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for Humanitarian Affairs informed the WHO Director General about the activities in the context of reforming the national health care system, including providing citizens with the proper level of medical care, affordable medicines, training medical personnel.

During the meeting the need to strengthen the work on fight against smoking and alcoholism, promotion of healthy lifestyles were separately discussed.
