On February 24, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.
The head of the Ukrainian diplomatic service, in particular, informed the interlocutor about the current security and humanitarian situation in the country, as well as the recent efforts of the Ukrainian side to normalize the situation in the southeast of Ukraine against the backdrop of the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation.
V.Prystaiko thanked the head of the Office for assisting our country in overcoming the humanitarian challenges and noted active engagement of the UNHCR at the international level in finding new mechanisms to assist those in need, including internally displaced persons.
In his turn, F.Grandi assured V.Prystaiko in further involvement of the UNHCR in protecting in Ukraine certain categories of persons in accordance with its mandate and providing technical assistance to strengthen respective institutional capacity.
