On the 3rd of October Deputy Permanent Representative in Geneva delivered a speech during the 63rd session of the Executive Committee of the Programme of the High Commissioner for Refugees. He informed about the improvements towards the protection of the rights of refugees in Ukraine, as well as about cooperation with the UNHCR in this area.

The participants were also informed about the completion of the Ukrainian internal procedures in order to accede to the 1951 UN Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons and the 1951 Convention on the Reduction of Stateless 1961.

In response UN High Commissioner for Refugees A. Guterres congratulated Ukraine with the progress in the development of the asylum system and assured of the full support of the Government of Ukraine towards finding optimal solutions to better manage the refugee protection system.
