The annual meetings of WIPO member states begin on October 1, 2012. The Assemblies of WIPO member states provide an opportunity for the Organization’s member states to review the status of activities and discuss future work of its working bodies, financial results of WIPO for 2010-2011 as well as to review financial situation in 2012 and the report on the Outcome of the Beijing Diplomatic Conference on the Protection of Audiovisual Performances.

The delegation of Ukraine headed by the Acting Head of the State Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Education and Science Mr. Oleksii Ianov also included experts of Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine and the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva will represent Ukraine at the 50-th series of Assembles of WIPO that continue till October 9.

During the 50-th series of Assembles of World Intellectual Property Organization, the delegation of Ukraine will have working meetings with certain representatives of WIPO Secretariat to discuss the perspectives for further development of the cooperation in the field of intellectual property protection, and the ways to enhance the role of the Ukrainian state in organizing and holding international conferences and seminars, educational courses within the framework of WIPO Academy Summer School.
