130th session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organisation is taking place in Geneva from 16–23 January 2012. There are important issues of health care such as prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, eradication of poliomyelitis, fight against falsified medical products, as well as Progress in the achievement of the health-related Millennium Development Goals and reforming of the Organisation on the agenda of the session.
The 130th session of the Executive Board will also consider the candidature of Dr Margaret Chan of China, current Director-General of WHO, for nomination to a second term of office of five years as Director-General from 1 July 2012.
