Ukraine is in an active dialogue with Azerbaijan on implementing joint projects in energy sector, President Viktor Yanukovych told Ukrainian journalists in Davos after meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart.

"We had another round of negotiations. Now, we are preparing two protocols for signature. There are technical issues that need to be examined by experts. Of course, Ukraine will continue cooperation with Azerbaijan to transport and buy Caspian gas, and could participate in the construction of gas transportation systems with the involvement of our capabilities," Viktor Yanukovych said.

Currently, the President said, there are trilateral talks going on between Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Turkey to implement joint energy projects. "There are prospects in this area," he said, adding that the parties have almost reached the confirmation of their interest in implementing such projects.
