Ukraine and Russia continue their negotiations on the price of gas and realize the importance of finding a compromise on this issue, President Viktor Yankovych said during a discussion with Aleksander Kwasniewski at the 8th Ukrainian Lunch "Options for the future” in Davos.
"We have been in negotiation for two years now. Ukraine and Russia both realize that we are ‘fated’ to make this decision, to find a compromise. The process continues, but there is no decision yet," said Viktor Yanukovych.
President Yanukovych repeated that as a result of the agreement signed in 2009 between Ukraine and Russia, our state pays an unbearably high price for gas. "The situation is extremely critical for us, because Ukraine pays the highest price for gas in the world - without any doubt," he said.
