The 19th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council commenced its work by the High-Level Segment at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 27 February 2012.

During the 4-week session Ministers and delegates from Governments will address through interactive dialogues, general debates and panel discussions actual human rights issues including right to food, right to adequate housing, social and cultural rights, minority rights, freedom of expression and juvenile justice. The situation of human rights in Syria, Libya, Myanmar, Iran, Côte d’Ivoire will also be reviewed.

The delegation Ukraine, headed by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine in Geneva Ambassador Mykola Maimeskul, participates in the work of the session as an observer.
