The Committee on Environmental Policy, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) holds its 18th session from 17 to 20 April 2012 in Geneva with representatives from around 50 countries as well as from international organizations and non-governmental institutions (UNEP, UNDP, WHO Regional Office for Europe, European ECO Forum, etc.) participating in the meeting.

At the event participants are to review the effectiveness of the UNECE region countries, in particular Turkmenistan, Albania and Romania, in the area of environmental performance, to learn from environmental conventions’ bureaus on progress in implementation of conventions and protocols, with special attention to strengthening joint capacity building in the field, and other issues.

The schedule of the meeting also includes a joint segment of the Committee on Environmental Policy and the Sustainable Energy Committee.

Participation of the Ukrainian side in the Committee is provided by the delegation from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva.
