On May 16, within the framework of the delegation of Ukraine participation in the 2012 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, which under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) takes place in Geneva, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine in Geneva Ambassador Mykola Maimeskul along with the Chairman of the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCRCI) of Ukraine Mr. Petro Yatsuk paid a visit to the ITU Secretary-General Dr. Hamadoun Touré.

During the meeting devoted to discussion of the Forum outcomes and topical issues of Ukraine’s cooperation with ITU, Dr. Touré hailed an active role played by Ukraine and reconfirmed interest towards further deepened collaboration with our country, particularly in the sphere of cybersecurity and the area of telecommunications sector’ regulations.

The ITU Secretary-General accepted with gratitude the invitation extended by the Chairman of the NCRCI of Ukraine to attend the Interregional Forum on telecommunications’ regulatory policy issues to be held in Kyiv in September 2012.
