The 2012 session of the representative governing body of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) – the ITU Council – takes place in Geneva on 4-13 July.
This year the 48-member ITU Council with participation of observers from other ITU member-states will review issues of strengthening ITU role in building confidence and security in the sphere of information and communication technologies (ICTs), implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society outcomes; international cooperation in Internet-related activities, ITU’s role in child on-line protection, interrelation of ICTs and climate change as well as issues of ICTs accessibility for disabled persons. Council will also examine in details implementation of strategic and operational plans for the period of 2013-2016.
The Permanent Mission of Ukraine participates in the Council session as an observer.
