On February 26, 2019, an exhibition of a world-famous Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk, organized by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine, was opened in Geneva Palais des Nations, with the participation of the painter.
About 60 paintings presenting six of the author’s artistic periods demonstrate a phenomenally broad creative range. The arts give a sense of beauty and uniqueness of the Ukrainian nature, the elegance and insight of the Ukrainian soul.
Sergiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, participated in the event. Having told the audience about the challenging artistic and life journey of the painter whose name is among “Top 100 Living Geniuses” according to The Daily Telegraph, Sergiy Kyslytsya drew its attention to the symbolic venue of the exhibition of Ivan Marchuk, whose entire work has been guided by aspirations for freedom. The exposition is held near the hall where the Human Rights Council (HRC) — the principal United Nations human rights body — meets.
Leadership of the UN Office at Geneva, representatives of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, other international organizations based in Geneva, the diplomatic corps, delegations participating in the HRC session, the public of the canton and the city of Geneva, as well as the local Ukrainian community attended the opening ceremony.
The exhibition will last till March 8, 2019.
