Within the framework of the Inland Transport Week, from 18 to 22 February 2019 the 81st session of the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is taking place in Geneva.
The delegation of Ukraine headed by Volodymyr Omelyan, Minister of Infrastructure, is attending the 81st session of the Committee.
In the course of the session the High-level segment on the subject of “Automation in Transport” has been conducted, which consisted of the plenary meetings on digitalisation of the road traffic, automation in transport and application of the modern technologies in relevant areas.
In his statement at the High-level segment, V.Omelyanhas said that modern technologies not only advance Ukrainian infrastructure but also integrate it into the world transportation systems, which corresponds to the interests of Ukraine, UNECE recommendations and Sustainable Development Goals.
During the 81st session the Committee’s resolution on Enhancing Cooperation, Harmonization and Integration in the Era of Transport Digitalization and Automation has been adopted; Ukraine has joined the list of co-sponsors of this resolution. At the meeting, the ITC Strategy 2030 has also been approved.
