On 24-28th September 2018, the 58th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) take place in Geneva.
Delegates are discussing reports on the work of WIPO's main committees and subsidiary bodies, as well as a wide range of other issues related to further development of the international regulatory framework in the sphere of intellectual property (IP) protection.
As noted by Francis Gurry, WIPO Director General, in his opening remarks, the priority of IP continues to grow in economic and social importance around the world and it is being driven by rapid, profound and pervasive technological changes that are shaping the future of the world economy.
Ukrainian delegation at the 58th session of the WIPO Assemblies is headed by Mikhail Titarchuk, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
In his statement during the general debate Mr. Titarchuk focused on continuation of reforms in the field of IP rights protection in Ukraine and emphasized on the effective interaction with WIPO in the implementation of the bilateral 2018-2019 Cooperation Program.
In the course of the meetings, the delegation of Ukraine plans to conclude a number of bilateral international legal documents concerning IP rights protection.
