On October 26-27, 2016 the 12th session of the Group of Experts on Cleaner Electricity Production from Fossil Fuels of the Committee on Sustainable Energy of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) took place in Geneva.

Participants of the session discussed the role of coal in achieving the Sustainable Development Goal № 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy" as well as the Group of Experts' Report on implementation of the Work plan for 2016-2017 and proposals to its Work plan for 2018-2019.

The representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine as well as of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva participated in the 12thsession of the Group of Experts.
