Today the 33rd session of the UN Human Rights Council has started its work, which will last till 30 September.
The opening speech of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights was focused on the refusal of the state authorities to provide access for monitoring the human rights situation. In particular, it concerned the Russian occupation authorities of the illegally occupied Crimea.
An interactive dialogue based, in particular, on the 15th report of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the human rights situation in Ukraine (to be held on 27 September) will be one of the most important events of the session for our country. The practice of holding of such interactive dialogues was launched by HRC resolution 29/23 and extended by HRC resolution 32/29, which were initiated by Ukraine.
In addition, the promotion of the traditional initiative – HRC resolution "The role of prevention in the promotion and protection of human rights" will be one of the key targets for the Ukrainian delegation at this session.
