Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of 24 November 2015 to leave unchanged court decisions regarding Ukrainian citizens Oleksandr Kolchenko and Oleg Sentsov sentenced by the Russian authorities in trumped-up charges to 20 and 10 years of strict regime colony respectively.

 Politically motivated cases against O.Sentsov and O.Kolchenko as well as illegal detention of other citizens of Ukraine in the Russian Federation clearly testify the lack of justice in the Russian Federation and are yet other symbols of its contemporary politics` cynicism.

 We demand the immediate release of citizens of Ukraine O.Kolchenko and O.Sentsov sentenced on political grounds as well as of other Ukrainian political prisoners illegally detained by the Russian Federation upon fabricated accusations.

 We call upon the international community and international human rights institutions to take all possible legal and political measures in order to release and return to Ukraine its citizens - political prisoners of the Russian Federation.
