On September 30, 2014 the official reception on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the Independence of our country was held in the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva.
The event was attended by Mr. M.Møller, Acting Director General of the UNOG, Mr. R.Azevêdo, Director-General of the WTO, Mr. F.Bach, Executive Secretary of the UNECE, Mr. M.Chungong, Secretary General of IPU, leadership of other numerous international organizations located in Geneva, Geneva’s diplomatic corps, cantonal and municipal authorities of Geneva, the Ukrainian community in Switzerland.
Addressing the guests of the event, Y.Klymenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine drew their attention to the challenges faced today by the Ukrainian state. He thanked the international community for its solidarity in this uneasy time for our country and expressed hope for further support of the efforts of the Ukrainian side in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the implementation of comprehensive reforms aimed at building a democratic, prosperous and successful state, as well as in ensuring the European perspective for Ukraine.
Admittedly, the reception became a noticeable positive event on international Geneva’s agenda which served for further strengthening of the international prestige of Ukraine.
