On February 12 Mr. O.Proskuriakov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine met with Mr. S.Alkalaj, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) with the participation of Mr. D.Mormul, the Head of the Bureau of the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention).

         The Parties discussed the current issues of interaction of our state with the UNECE. The main attention was paid to the preparation for holding in June 2014 under the Ukrainian chairmanship of the Sixth Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Espoo Convention.

         O.Proskuriakov has informed about our country’s activity aimed at an appropriate organization of the above-mentioned event.  S.Alkalaj, on his part, has assured in any support of his institution of the relevant Ukraine’s efforts on this way.
