On January 13 Yurii Klymenko presented to Michael Møller, Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office in Geneva the letter of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine L.Kozhara addressed to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon accrediting him as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
During the meeting with Acting Director General of the UN Office Mr.Y.Klymenko reaffirmed readiness of Ukraine to make every effort to achieve the organization's goals and to continue active cooperation with the UN institutions in Geneva.
Permanent Representative of Ukraine highlighted the priorities of Ukraine within the framework of the UN international organizations in Geneva. In particular, he underlined the intention of Ukraine to nominate its candidature to the Human Rights Council on the elections to be held in 2017 and to mark the 20th anniversary of the Budapest Memorandum and Ukraine's accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons as a non-nuclear state.
Mr.Møller congratulated Mr.Klymenko on his appointment and wished every success in his diplomatic mission in Geneva.
