The Permanent representative of Ukraine to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Mr. M.Maimeskul held a meeting with the Director-general of CERN Mr. R.Heuer on 6 October 2013. Main outcomes of the cooperation between Ukraine and the European organization for nuclear research (CERN) as well as priorities for further cooperation have been discussed during the meeting.

         Mutual satisfaction of the level of bilateral cooperation and intentions on its reinforcing and deepening in the future have been expressed. The Permanent representative of Ukraine especially emphasized that the signing of the Agreement between Ukraine and the European organization for nuclear research (CERN) concerning the granting of the status of associate member at CERN became an important step on the way of Ukraine's integration into European scientific and research space and rapprochement with the European Union.

         Mr. M.Maimeskul underlined that Ukraine is ready to continue active cooperation with CERN in order to obtain in the future a full membership in CERN.
