Meeting of the Permanent Representative of Ukraine with the Director-General of the United Nations Office in Geneva

In connection with the completion of his long-term mission the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Mykola Maimeskul held a meeting with the Director-General of the United Nations Office in Geneva, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on October 24, 2013.

The participants noted the increasing role of the United Nations, in particular on Geneva direction, in addressing and solving world’s global problems.

The Director-General emphasized the active involvement of Ukraine and its Permanent Mission with the activities of Geneva-based international organizations, especially in such important areas as human rights, disarmament, international trade and development, cooperation on fundamental scientific issues, intellectual property, social issues and health care.

In his turn, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine highly appreciated the personal contribution of the Director-General Tokayev to further increase of the role of the international Geneva as a universal multilateral negotiation platform for resolving the pressing problems of the modern times.
