The sixteenth session of the Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group commenced its work in Geneva’s Palais des Nations on 22 April 2013. UPR serves as a key mechanism of the Council that regularly reviews all the UN Member States’ commitments in the sphere of human rights.

Agenda of the session includes reviews of 14 countries: Turkmenistan, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Colombia, Uzbekistan, Tuvalu, Germany, Djibouti, Canada, Bangladesh, Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Cameroon and Cuba.

The delegation of Ukraine represented by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva participates in the work of the session.
