The Meetings of Experts of Protocols II on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Mines, Booby Traps and Other Devices and Protocol V on Explosive Remnants of War to the Convention on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons Which May Be Deemed to Be Excessively Injurious or to Have Indiscriminate Effects (CCW), convene in Geneva from 8 to 12 April 2013.
The Meetings of Experts have to discuss the status and implementation of the relevant Protocols, promotion of their universality, their implementation with regard to maintaining of safety and security of ammunition storage facilities, ways and methods for improving the efficiency of clearance operations, relevant international cooperation and assistance, information exchange on IEDs and their prevention as well as on the provision of assistance for victims.
The delegation of Ukraine to the above mentioned meetings is headed by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Office and international organizations in Geneva Mykola Maimeskul. It includes experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Emergency Service, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers as well as from the Security Service of Ukraine.
