With deep sorrow we inform that on 1 March 2021 the first Foreign Minister of independent Ukraine Anatoliy Zlenko passed away.
Honourable Anatoliy Zlenko served twice as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (1990-1994, 2000-2003). He worked as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN (1994-1997), Ambassador of Ukraine to the French Republic and Non-Resident Ambassador to Portuguese Republic, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to UNESCO (1997-2000).
For his work and personal contribution to the diplomatic service and the development of international relations Anatoliy Zlenko received numerous awards, including the Order of Merit (Ukraine), the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise (Ukraine), the Legion of Honour (France), the Order of Merit (Portugal), the Order of Honour (Georgia).
Anatoliy Zlenko received a PhD in Political Science and was conferred Honorary Doctor of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
