The Conference on Disarmament (CD) started the first part of its 2013 session on January 22, 2013 under the Presidency of the Permanent Representative of Hungary, Ambassador A.Dekany.

First part of this year’s session of the CD will last until March 29, 2013. India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq and Ireland will also hold the Presidency during 2013 session.

During the plenary session the Conference adopted its agenda for 2013 session and a list of observer states which will take part in this year's session of the CD.

As in previous years, the core items on the agenda of the Conference in 2013 will be the issues of nuclear disarmament, fissile materials, negative security assurances and prevention of arms race in outer space.

Ukrainian delegation is headed by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva H.E. Mr. Mykola Maimeskul.
