The 53-rd session of Administrative committee for the TIR Convention of Economic Commission of Europe took place on February 9, 2012 in Geneva. During the Session the member for the vacant position in the TIR executive board was elected (previously this post was hold by Ukrainian).

As a result of voting by secret ballot, the Ukrainian candidature V.Bondar, Head of the Department of customs infrastructure development and international cooperation of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, was adopted unanimously as a member of the TIR Executive board. The Executive board is a governing body of TIR Convention, which determines the policy of international shipping operations, implementation of relevant custom procedures and conditions of freight transit, shifted by motor traffic in the UNECE region as well as in other countries, which adopted the Convention.

The 130-th session of the Working Party on Customs Questions affecting Transport (WP.30) of Economic Commission of Europe (UNECE) took place from 7 to 9 of February, 2012. Member states of UNECE unanimously supported the reelection of representative of Ukraine O.Fedorov to hold an office of the head of this executive UNECE organ in 2012.
