The fifty-eighth session of trade and development board (UNCTAD) takes place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva from 17 to 28 September 2012.
The UNCTAD Trade and Development Board in its plenary session today elected as its new President H.E. Mr. Juri Seilenthal, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Estonia (representative of regional group D).
The following issues are planned to be discussed during the session: coordinating stimulus for global growth; evolution of the international trading system and its trends from a development perspective; development strategies in a globalized world; investment for development.
The peculiar attention during the session will be paid on the review of the technical cooperation activities of UNCTAD. It is also planned to construct a follow-up to the Joint Inspection Unit report on management and administration of UNCTAD.
The participation of the delegation of Ukraine in the work of the session is provided by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva.
