The international community in Geneva celebrates the 28th anniversary of Ukraine's independence

On September 10, 2019, the official reception on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine was held in the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva.

The event was attended by numerous representatives of the international organizations based in Geneva, diplomatic corps, cantonal and municipal authorities of Geneva, and local Ukrainian community. 

Addressing the participants of the event, Yurii Klymenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine in Geneva, emphasized that this year's presidential and parliamentary elections had affirmed Ukrainians’ desire for a peaceful, prosperous and democratic future, our country's eagerness and readiness for a swifter and more ambitious program of reforms. The Permanent Representative expressed his gratitude to the international guests and members of the Ukrainian community for solidarity and support in protecting territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, assistance in firm resistance to existing challenges our country faces and called for deepening cooperation with Ukraine. 

During the reception the guests had an opportunity to try traditional Ukrainian cuisine in modern interpretation prepared by chefs from the Association of Chefs of Ukraine.
