On September 12, 2018 the official reception on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine was held in the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva.

The event was attended by numerous representatives of the international organizations located in Geneva, diplomatic corps, cantonal and municipal authorities of Geneva and local Ukrainian community. 

Addressing the participants of the reception, Yurii Klymenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine in Geneva has drawn their attention to the successful implementation of comprehensive structural reforms in Ukraine and GDP growth, despite ongoing Russian aggression against our country, irreversible European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, has expressed gratitude to the international community for the solidarity and support, as well as has called for deepening cooperation to duly counter existing and potential challenges and threats, and to ensure further effective reforming of Ukraine.

During the reception the masterpieces of the prominent Ukrainian composers were performed by a young virtuoso Ukrainian musician Elina Akselrud. The modern Ukrainian cuisine was also presented to the international community.
