On September 5, 2017 the official reception on the occasion of the 26^th anniversary of the Independence of our country was held in the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva.

The event was attended by the leadership of international organizations located in Geneva, Geneva’s diplomatic corps as well as representatives of the international organizations’ secretariats, cantonal and municipal authorities of Geneva, the Ukrainian community in Switzerland. 

Addressing the event’s participants, Y.Klymenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine in Geneva drew their attention, in particular, to the entry into force of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement on this September 1^st, introduction by EU of the visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, restoration of the GDP growth of our country by 2.5% and successful implementation of comprehensive structural reforms in Ukraine, despite the significant challenges posed by the hybrid warfare waged by the Russian Federation. The gratitude was expressed to the international community for the solidarity with Ukraine and it was called for deepening cooperation to counter the existing threats and ensuring further effective reforming of our state.

During the reception the works of contemporary Ukrainian art were demonstrated to the international community, and the folk ensemble gave live performance playing Ukrainian traditional musical instruments - banduras.
