On June 12, 2017, A.Reva, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine delivered a statement during the 106th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC).
The Minister stressed, in particular, on the commitment of the Ukrainian authorities to the implementation of comprehensive socio-economic reforms, brining the national labor legislation of Ukraine up to the international norms and standards, as well as noted the Government’s persistent work to address the problems of social protection and reintegration of more than 1.5 million IDPs, which emerged as a result of Russian hybrid aggression against our country.
A.Reva expressed gratitude for ILO’s technical and expert assistance to develop and implement the mentioned reforms, as well as hope for ILO’s further facilitation in overcoming by Ukraine its current socio-economic challenges.
On the same day A.Revа had a meeting with G.Ryder, Director General of the ILO, during which the Head of the said international organization was informed about the latest achievements of Ukraine in pursuing socio-economic policy, as well as about existing challenges. It was also agreed to further develop cooperation in specific areas, in particular as regards to the launching of the pension reform. G.Ryder, positively noting improvements in Ukraine’s social dialogue and efforts to lift the moratorium on labor inspection, assured of further support for Ukraine in making driving changes.
In addition, the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine and Z.Emilianidou, Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance of Cyprus signed within the 106th session of the ILC the Memorandum of Understanding between the relevant ministries.
