The Review of the Trade policies and practices of Ukraine took place on 19 – 21 April 2016. Members for the first time conducted an analysis of Ukraine’s trade and economic relations since its accession to the Organization in the 2008. Materials distributed by the WTO on this issue drew the attention of over 20 members of the Organization, who, in accordance with the procedure, sent numerous advanced written questions regarding the trade-oriented policy of the Government of Ukraine.
Nataliia Mykolska - Head of the delegation, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine - Trade Representative of Ukraine made an in-depth report about the strategy and stay of play of the economic reforms’ implementation, Ukraine’s conformity with the comprehensive WTO obligations, the progress in harmonization of the legal and regulatory framework with system of laws and rules of the Organization.
Ukrainian delegation conducted an analytical review of questions and comments made by the members mainly covering the scope of the foreign economic relations issues, like fight against corruption, agriculture support, transparency of the financial policy, export restriction measures, customs valuation etc. Head of the Ukrainian delegation assured WTO members in timely preparation and distribution of additional clarifications on some measures of foreign economic activity of Ukraine.
