On March 2 in the framework of a working visit to Geneva P.Klimkin, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine held a meeting with F.Gianotti, Director-General of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), during which it was agreed to intensify the bilateral cooperation before the gaining by Ukraine the status of an associate member of CERN. Minister invited F.Gianotti to visit Ukraine to attend IX All-Ukrainian Festival of Science in May this year.

Furthemore, P.Klimkin got acquainted with the scientific potential of the Organization in the field of particles physics, which, following a two-year long shutdown, started season 2 of the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at about twice higher energy of collisions.
